Meditation: The Path to Happiness

Meditation: The Path to Happiness

In this talk, Sri Swami Satchidananda asserts that all problems can be solved through the regular practice of meditation. Sri Gurudev contrasts the approach of meditation to that of Western psychology and shares his insights and wisdom on how meditation can be made continuous through the development of the "witnessing" attitude. Pleasure and pain are two sides of the same coin. If we raise above pleasure and pain, profit and loss, praise and blame, we will see everything, but won't get affected by it. That means to become a witness. All the ups and downs are in the mind. If we identify ourselves as mind, then we go through all these troubles. Through regular meditation practice, we develop the awareness that we are the same always - the true Self or the image of God.

This talk is a wonderful motivational tool for those new to the practice of meditation as well as for more advanced practitioners.
