Living a Liberated Life
We all have a witness within that is known as the Self. That Self is a constant witness. What is it witnessing? It witnesses the play of the mind. The mind constantly creates dramas. The entire world is a dramatic stage. It has positive and negative, pleasure and pain. If we get mixed up with that, we are no longer a witness. Yoga helps us to develop the witness part of ourselves; it helps us to cultivate the observer so we can watch our own drama.
In this lecture, Swami Satchidananda (Sri Gurudev) explains that, "You are already a witness, you just have to know that. The Self is a witness, you don't have to become a witness. When you say, 'my mind,' this implies that you are different from your mind." We have a mind, but we are not the mind. The one who has realized this is called a Jivanmukta, a living liberated soul. Sri Gurudev also answers questions and offers his guidance on other subjects including the best way to take care of one's physical, spiritual and emotional heart.
Topics include:
- Taking Care of the Heart
- Breaking Bad Habits
- Being the Witness
- Karma
- How to Pray
